The LawPage team

The team driving LawPage includes highly respected and established practising lawyers and a seasoned software developer. The company engaged to develop and support the software, under the project management of Patrick McBratney, is Modus Create.

Patrick McBratney

After graduating from The Queen’s University of Belfast with an honours degree in computer science, Patrick McBratney has spent over 25 years in commercial software development. In 1999 he co-founded Performa Consultants UK Ltd, a company specialising in analytics, reporting and consultancy services within the demanding investment management industry. The company developed an impressive client list of blue-chip investment companies, twice featuring in the Deloitte Fast 50 league of growing companies. After the acquisition of Performa Patrick has continued in the industry through various consultancy roles.

Jim Meyer

Jim is a well-established criminal defence solicitor with over 29 years’ experience. He is a member of the Law Society’s Professional Standards and Conduct Committee. He has represented the legal profession in negotiations with the Legal Aid Agency and the Ministry of Justice in relation to the structure and operation of funding schemes, and helped develop his previous firm’s billing and case management system. Jim co-founded Egan Meyer Limited, a boutique criminal defence firm also based in Mayfair and a current client of LawPage. Jim is proficient in a number of programming and database languages, and he has used this expertise to identify how best to streamline a lawyer’s professional practice and design features of the LawPage case management system.

Richard Matthews KC

Richard is widely regarded as the top silk in the fields of health and safety and environmental law. He was called to the bar in 1989 and appointed King’s Counsel in 2010, and has extensive experience in representing corporations, individuals and directors facing a wide range of regulatory investigations. Richard left chambers in 2020 to establish his own practice (Mayfair Place Chambers), having grown frustrated with the antiquated chambers set-up. From there, the idea for LawPage was first conceived, as a way to enable similar minded barristers to liberate themselves from being tied to a chambers and establish a more modern and efficient practice.

Sorcha Duncan

Sorcha is a qualified solicitor admitted to the roll of solicitors of England and Wales. She is familiar with court procedure and the machinations of how courts and listings work, and has developed good relationships with court staff. Sorcha practiced at a top Legal 500 firm in the Serious Crime department and was responsible for a team of lawyers. At her previous firm, she was an early adopter of technology and in particular its application for lawyers and how it can enhance their practice. Sorcha is the current Practice Manager of LawPage at Mayfair Place.
