Built around M365

Barristers also have a legal and regulatory burden to meet, most notably in relation to data protection. Most of the information they process will be sensitive personal data and so must be protected; and can only be retained for as long as is strictly necessary.

Built to work seamlessly with the Microsoft 365 suite of products and Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform, the LawPage app platform provides its clients with the peace of mind that comes with having mature, enterprise scale solutions baked into the app’s core. Data protection is assured through:

  • Government-level encryption of all data at rest;
  • Government-level encryption of the connection between the LawPage system and its users;
  • Multi-factor authentication of all users of the LawPage system;
  • Locating all clients’ data within the UK;
  • The automatic application of GDPR-compliant data-retention and information processing and classification policies.

LawPage guides clients through the setup process each step of the way, from account set-up through to the enterprise’s intune protection.

Any professional who works digitally will be painfully aware of the nightmare that occurs when you have spent hours working on a specific document only for that document to be deleted, never to be seen again. However, LawPage aims to increase peace of mind when working on files and diminishes the chance of a document becoming irretrievable.

LawPage is built around Microsoft’s Sharepoint and OneDrive for Business platforms; matter-related files are stored in Sharepoint and accessible via OneDrive. Files are synchronised such that any file that is opened locally on a barrister’s computer and saved into a matter’s OneDrive folder is automatically saved onto the Activity History for that matter. This adds a layer of invaluable security; even if a document is deleted from a barrister’s local computer, or the computer itself is damaged / lost / stolen, that document will still be retrievable via the LawPage system itself.

OneDrive also operates ‘in reverse’, meaning that any file saved directly onto a matter’s Activity History is also directly accessible on the barrister’s computer or Mac. All that is needed for this sync is an internet connection, LawPage does the rest.

The integration of Microsoft’s Sharepoint and OneDrive for Business into the LawPage platform provides barristers with unrivalled power, including:

  • Anywhere access: barristers can easily store, access, and discover their individual and shared matter-related files in Microsoft 365, including Microsoft Teams, from all their devices. Their offline edits will automatically sync next time they connect.
  • Seamless collaboration: Barristers can work faster and smarter with anyone. They can securely share matter-related files and work together in real time using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint across web, mobile, and desktop.
  • Untethered mobility: Barristers can create, view, edit, and share files on the go with the OneDrive mobile app. They can easily capture whiteboards, scan receipts, and other paper documents for safekeeping.
  • Controls for security: A barrister’s matter-related files are backed-up and protected, and can be easily recovered from accidental deletes or malicious attacks.
